2019 Annual Free Watermelon Feed
U.S. Congressman Billy Long, Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe, MO Speaker of the House Elijah Haahr, and MO State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick will speak at the 2019 Annual Free Watermelon Feed.
NEOSHO, MO (July 9, 2019)—The Annual Free Watermelon Feed, co-hosted by the Republican Women of Newton County and the Newton County Republican Central Committee, will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 6:30 P.M. at Big Spring Park, 308 West Spring St., Neosho, MO 64850.
The Free Watermelon Feed is open to all Republicans. Ice cold watermelon, bottled water, and ice-cream made in Newton County by All Aboard Ice Cream Co. will be provided—free of charge (ice cream courtesy of Elect Bill White). All you need to bring is your lawn chairs, appetite, and friends & neighbors.
U.S. Representative Billy Long was elected to represent Missouri’s 7th Congressional District in 2010. Congressman Long, a realtor and auctioneer by trade, brings real life entrepreneurial experience to the U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Long sits on the House Energy and Commerce Committee where he serves on three crucial subcommittees: Communications and Technology, Environment and Climate Change and Health. Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe was appointed to his position on June 18, 2018. Lt. Gov. Kehoe was elected to serve as a State Senator for the Sixth Senatorial District in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Lt. Gov. Kehoe has experience as a small businessman and operates a beef cattle production on his family farm in Phelps County. Missouri Speaker Elijah Haahr was elected to represent south central Springfield (District 134) in November of 2012. Elijah is an attorney with Lathrop Gage and focuses his practice on workers’ compensation and civil litigation. Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick was sworn in as Missouri’s 47th Treasurer on January 14, 2019. Treasurer Fitzpatrick is a former State Representative elected in 2012 at the age of 25 to represent Barry and portions of Stone and Lawrence Counties.
A straw quiz will be available to those in attendance. The straw quiz will serve as entry into a drawing for prizes. Featured prizes include “Make America Great Again” shirts and hats,12 gauge & .22 ammunition, Trump Paper Dolls, and a picnic basket. The drawing will take place at the conclusion of the Free Watermelon Feed.
In case of rain, the Free Watermelon Feed will be moved to the Neosho Civic Center, 109 West Main Street, Neosho, MO 64850 at 6:30 P.M.
